Everyday bushcraft, traditionally used for survival in the wilderness, offers invaluable lessons in resilience, teamwork, and confidence—skills that are deeply integrated into the Australian Curriculum across various learning areas.

Introduction

We offer a unique program designed for primary and high school students in Australia, focusing on bushcraft skills that align with curriculum objectives. Through hands-on activities and real-world scenarios, students will develop practical skills that enhance their overall educational experience, preparing them for future challenges.

Program Overview

Our bushcraft programs are tailored to meet the developmental needs of both primary and high school students while aligning with the Australian Curriculum.

 

We offer three program durations to accommodate school schedules and educational goals:

 

A. 2-Hour Program: Introduction to Everyday Bushcraft for Resilience, Teamwork, and Confidence

 

Objective:

To introduce students to basic bushcraft skills and demonstrate how these skills can build resilience, teamwork, and confidence, satisfying specific curriculum requirements.

 

Agenda:-

  • Welcome and Introduction
    (10 minutes)

  • Resilience: Simple Shelter Building
    (30 minutes)

  • Teamwork: Fire Starting Basics
    (30 minutes)

  • Confidence: Navigation Skills
    (30 minutes)

  • Debrief and Closing
    (20 minutes)

Developing personal and social skills such as teamwork and leadership.

Understanding basic survival needs and the interaction between human beings and the environment.

B. 4-Hour Program: Practical Everyday Bushcraft for Building Resilience, Teamwork, and Confidence

 

Objective:  To provide a more comprehensive experience where students engage in practical activities that strengthen resilience, teamwork, and confidence while meeting curriculum standards.

    (15 minutes)

  • Resilience: Building a Durable Shelter
    (45 minutes)

  • Teamwork: Advanced Fire Starting and Outdoor Cooking
    (1 hour)

  • Confidence: Navigation and Orienteering Challenge
    (1 hour)

  • Application to Everyday Life
    (45 minutes)

  • Debrief and Closing
    (15 minutes)

C. 8-Hour Program: Comprehensive Everyday Bushcraft for Resilience, Teamwork, and Confidence Development

 

Objective:  To deliver an immersive experience where students fully engage with bushcraft skills, learning to apply these skills to build resilience, teamwork, and confidence in line with the Australian Curriculum.

  • Welcome and Program Introduction
    (15 minutes)

  • Resilience: Advanced Shelter Building and Adaptability
    (1 hour)

  • Teamwork: Fire Starting, Water Sourcing, and Cooking Challenge
    (1 hour 30 minutes)

  • Confidence: Advanced Navigation and Survival Skills
    (1 hour 30 minutes)

  • Lunch Break (30 minutes)

  • Practical Application: Bushcraft Skills in Daily Life
    (1 hour)

  • Team Challenge: Problem-Solving Scenario
    (1 hour 30 minutes)

  • Final Reflection and Takeaways
    (45 minutes)

  • Closing Remarks and Q&A
    (30 minutes)
